Irish EBF Barrier Trials On The Up With Dates Released For 2024 Fixtures

The Irish EBF Barrier Trials, which has been a source of Group 1, Classic and even Cheltenham Festival winners, will get underway at Naas on Monday, May 27.  Dundalk Stadium will host the middle fixture on Monday, July 8, while Leopardstown will be the venue for the final date on Wednesday, August 28, again at six and seven furlongs.   Charles O'Neill, CEO of Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, commented, "We are looking forward to staging the Irish EBF Barrier Trials again this summer. Entries Close on Monday For Sept. 13 Irish EBF Barrier Trials

Entries for the Sept. 13 Irish EBF Barrier Trials close at 5 p.m. local time on Sept. 6, Irish Thoroughbred Marketing announced on Sunday. The final day of barrier trials of the 2021 season, the Dundalk-based event, which begins at 12 p.m., is operated by ITM and backed by the Irish EBF and the IHRB. Open to unraced 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds, the barrier trials are conducted over five, six and seven furlongs. Irish EBF Trials To Resume at Dundalk

Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, with the support of the Irish European Breeders' Fund and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, will resume Barrier Trials for unraced 2- and 3-year-olds at Dundalk Stadium July 29. The Irish EBF Barrier Trials will operate under the same COVID-19 protocols in use on regular race days. Entries, which opened July 15, will close July 24.
