Trainer Tom Amoss is serving 15 days of a 60-day suspension and has been fined $5,000 after reaching a settlement agreement with the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) for a positive post-race equine drug test that turned up the Class 3/Penalty Level B substance sotalol in one of his winning trainees at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Oct. 17, 2022. Horseshoe Indianapolis Seeks Four-Date Thoroughbred Trim in '23

Horseshoe Indianapolis is proposing a 2023 mixed-meet racing schedule of 123 dates that pares four dates from the Thoroughbred portion of the calendar, down to 117 from the 121 Thoroughbred dates that had been granted this year. The Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) approved racing dates for the 2022 racing season at Indiana Grand Monday. A proposal from the Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development (ITBD) to return the purse levels of all Indiana-bred and -sired stakes races to a minimum of $100,000 was approved by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) at a meeting held July 15 has been approved. Indiana Grand Racing & Casino capped a meet of broken records with a single-season all-sources handle record of $198,960,722. The 2020 figure was up 31% from the 2019 handle of $123,635,376. Decreases to Indiana 2020 Breeding Program Approved

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission approved cuts to the state's Thoroughbred breeding program during a virtual meeting last week. With casino closures and the potential for reduced revenues once reopened, funding available for the state's breeding program decreased significantly. Indiana Grand Targets June 15 Opening

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, pending approval from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission, has proposed opening its 90-day season Monday, June 15 and close as previously scheduled Nov. 18. Indiana Thoroughbred Program Eyes Growth of $2.4m
