Thoroughbreds will now be recognised in the starting lists and results beginning with the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, in an agreement announced on Tuesday. The European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation released a statement on Wednesday noting that Russia's application to join the federation has been placed on hold, and expressed its "concern and sympathy" for Ukraine. The EMHF Fellowship Observer competition, open to all members of racing societies affiliated to the ESHF, was created by the European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation (EMHF) and the European Student Horseracing Federation (ESHF). Dr. Paull Khan will remain the Secretary-General of the European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation until Dec. 31, 2024.
