+BOATER (IRE) (f, 2, Helmet {Aus}–Cercle d'Amour, by Storm Cat), who was the subject of strong support in the market into 8-13 favouritism, made a rapid recovery from an awkward break to assume command. Threatened only by Playful Trickster (Ire) (Intikhab) early in the straight, the homebred saw off that rival with the minimum of effort to draw away and win impressively by seven lengths. In doing so, Boater becomes the first European winner for her first-season sire (by Exceed and Excel {Aus}). The dam, who is a half to the G3 Norfolk S. winner and G1 Prix Morny runner-up Warm Heart (Diesis {GB}) and a full-sibling of a listed-winning dam of the GSW Tiger Ride (Candy Ride {Arg}) and two other stakes performers, has a yearling colt by Teofilo (Ire). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $5,578. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
