SUPER COMET (c, 3, Super Saver–Sky Dreamer {MSP & GSP, $176,065}, by Sky Mesa), tabbed a 'TDN Rising Star' for a head-turning 4 3/4-length debut score here June 2 that garnered him a solid 85 Beyer Speed Figure, returned on relatively short rest to clear his first-level allowance condition Friday against a salty bunch. Pounded late in the betting cycle down to even money, the chestnut was ridden along for position early and moved into second down the backside as Louisiana-bred multiple stakes winner Classy John (Songandaprayer) sped off. Asked to go and get the leader into a :44.85 half, he finally collared that one at the sixteenth pole and then fended off Lemniscate (Exchange Rate) to get the job done by a length. Classy John held for third. The winner is a half to Kimbear (Temple City), GSW-UAE & GSP-US, $542,267 and a 2-year-old filly by Hard Spun. Under second dam To Dream About (Monarchos) is Oxley's GISW Dream Dancing (Tapit) and recent GIII Pat Day Mile S. third and fellow Churchill debut winner and 'Rising Star' Dream Maker (Tapit). Super Comet's third dam is none other than MGISW and champion older mare Beautiful Pleasure (Maudlin). Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $110,856.
