LIFE ON THE ROAD (c, 2, Street Sense–Easy Living {SP, $153,300}, by Big Brown) graduated at first asking at Ellis Park Friday afternoon to provide his Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen with his third straight win on the card and second with owner Phoenix Thoroughbred. The owner/trainer combo also won race 5, another baby race, with Something Super (Super Saver). Let go at 5-1 from a 5-2 morning-line quote, the $450,000 KEESEP buy kept tabs on 4-5 favorite Amongst (Into Mischief) from third through a swift opening quarter in :22.13. Confronting the leader on the backstretch, the bay forged past the chalk in the lane and cruised clear with little urging to win by 3 1/2 lengths. Subliminalcriminal (Goldencents) got up for second and Amongst faded to fifth. The winner is the first foal out of Easy Living, who is also responsible for a yearling filly by Quality Road and a weanling filly by American Pharoah. She was bred back to More Than Ready. Sales history: $450,000 Ylg ’18 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. $30,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart.
