Street Cry Colt Strikes In the Desmond

Tribal Beat | Racing Post

TRIBAL BEAT (IRE), c, 3, Street Cry (Ire)Tashelka (Fr) (MGSW-Fr, $178,310), by Mujahid. Lifetime Record: 6-2-2-0, €63,080. O-Godolphin; B-Darley (IRE); T-Jim Bolger; J-Kevin Manning. *1/2 to Tasaday (Nayef), Hwt. Older Mare-UAE at 9 1/2-11f, MGSW & MG1SP-Fr, SW & G1SP-Eng, SW-UAE, $817,731.
While all attention was focused on the returning GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf hero Hit It A Bomb (War Front), it was another long-absent 3-year-old Tribal Beat who emerged stage centre as he made a successful comeback having been off since finishing runner-up in the G3 Killavullan S. over seven furlongs here in October. Settled in fourth initially before ending up worse than mid-division, the 9-1 shot was pushed along and apparently held in early straight and had plenty to do as the 13-8 favourite Hit It A Bomb joined the lead with over a furlong remaining. Spurred on by Cougar Mountain (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) on his outer, the homebred responded by wearing down the previously unbeaten Ballydoyle first string and asserting for a 1 3/4-length success from Cougar Mountain, with Hit It A Bomb a neck behind in third.
