Street Boss's Bebhinn Garners the Blenheim

3rd at FRH, Lst StkListed Blenheim S. (6f)Winner: Bebhinn, f, 2 by Street Boss

Bebhinn, who was a half-length second at The Curragh on debut Mar. 29, broke through over the same trip at Navan last time Apr. 18 and returned from an extended break to register a personal best in this black-type bow. Well away to stalk the pace up close, she loomed large full of run passing the two pole and came under a late drive to assert superiority in game fashion. “This has been the plan for the last six weeks and, although the boss could have been tempted with something higher, that's why he is who he is,” said winning rider Chris Hayes of trainer Kevin Prendergast. “He told me to keep it simple, she traveled with such ease and, when I gave her a squeeze, she blew up one-and-a-half furlongs out. Her class got her home and she'll improve a lot. I don't know where she'll go, but she's very exciting. It's some training performance after that [164-day] length of a break. To leave her off in a paddock and forget about her for two months–genius.” Regarding future plans owner Jeremy Harley added, “She has the option of the [G3] Cornwallis is at Newmarket [Oct. 9] and there is also a fillies Listed race at the end of next month [Oct. 30 Bosra Sham S. also at Newmarket]. She might not run again this year though, but she'll be a nice 3-year-old sprinter next year.”
