SPEED WHAY (IRE) (c, 2, Strath Burn {GB}–Go Maggie Go {Ire}, by Kheleyf), an 8-5 second favourite with fellow Scuderia SSIM SRL runner Claptrap (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}), became the first starter and first winner for his first-season sire (by Equiano {Fr}) when saluting by a half-length on debut over his stablemate at Napoli on Friday. The winner is a half-brother to Terre Brune (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}), who won the Listed Premio Divino Amore-Trofeo; and a yearling filly by Camelot (GB). His winning second dam produced GSPs Canwinn (Ire) (Refuse to Bend {Ire}) and Sailing Shoes (Ire) (Lahib), and was herself a half-sister to French listed winner North Haneena (Ire) (Far North). G3 Hackwood S. hero Strath Burn, who ran second in the G1 Betfred Sprint Cup, was based at Bridge House Stud in Ireland from 2017-2019.
