According to the Asbury Park Press, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy contacted the track’s operator Dennis Drazin to express his concerns about the conditions. After two late scratches, the first race took place, and the track said it would reevaluate the running of any more races after the second contest–as of now, there appears to be a delay before that race.
