Reigning Horse of the Year Sovereignty (Into Mischief) has been installed as the 4-1 favorite in the first of two future wagers on this year's $7 million GI Longines Breeders' Cup Classic, according to a Wednesday release from the Breeders' Cup.
Last year's Classic winner Forever Young (Jpn) (Real Steel {Jpn}) was tabbed as the second choice at 5-1 and recent GI Pacific Classic Stakes hero Knightsbridge (Nyquist) was named the third choice at 6-1.
The $2 minimum future win wager will open on Friday, Aug. 28, at Noon and will close on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. ET. The second opportunity will be offered starting on Friday, Sept. 25, at Noon and will end at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Both future bet pools will consist of a maximum of 23 unique wagering interests and one “All Other Starters” wager. “All Other Starters” includes any Thoroughbreds entered in the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic other than the pool's individual horses.
Betting on all Breeders' Cup future wagers will be offered via Breeders' Cup partner FanDuel and other advanced-deposit wagering (“ADW”) sites, racetracks, casinos, simulcast centers, and off-track betting sites.
