Social Inclusion Half to Green Hills Farm

Hip 570, a Scat Daddy half-sister to well-regarded GI Twinspires.com Wood Memorial third Social Inclusion (Pioneerof the Nile), was hammered down for $425,000 late in the second session at OBSAPR. Donato Lanni signed for the colt while standing next to trainer Michael Matz. “We liked the look of the filly and it's a young family,” Matz explained, noting that the purchase was made for Dimitrios Katsaros's Green Hills Farm.
Bryan and Holley Rice's Woodside Ranch purchased the filly for $58,000 last year at OBS August. As to what drew them to the yearling, Bryan Rice said it was “Her balance and physical presentation and, of course, I was very keen on the sire.”
She received a major pedigree boost when Social Inclusion upended GSW Honor Code (A.P. Indy) in a Gulfstream allowance Mar. 12 before attending a hot pace in the Apr. 5 Wood. The flashy bay will either run in the GI Kentucky Derby or GI Preakness S. if he fails to get in in Louisville.
Rice believes the Scat Daddy filly, who covered a quarter in :21.2 in the under tack show, has developed nicely since she joined Woodside Ranch.
“She has done well,” Rice commented. “She has continued to mature and grow into her frame and I see a lot of room for her to continue in positive directions.”
Rice, who will have five more hips go into the ring over the next two sessions, is happy with the market at the sale. “I feel like they're working very hard to find horses that meet their needs,” he said. “And they're willing to step forward and reward us for brining a good product.”
