Francis Graffard unveiled another exciting prospect on Wednesday when Lord Clover (Siyouni) made light work of the mile maiden on Chantilly's Polytrack.
Sent off the 3-5 favourite, the son of the Group 1-placed Lady Frankel (Frankel) did everything right following a tardy break to cruise by outclassed rivals a furlong out under Christophe Soumillon and on to a 6 1/2-length success from Magnus (Footstepsinthesand).
The result was a landmark for Soumillon, with the Belgian recording a 4000th victory on the flat in France.
The winner, who is engaged in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains and Prix du Jockey Club, is the fourth foal out of the dam who captured the G3 Prix de Lieurey and was third in the Prix de l'Opera. A daughter of the G3 Prix du Calvados winner and Prix Marcel Boussac-placed Lady Vettori (Vettori), she is therefore a half-sister to Shamardal's illustrious sire son Lope De Vega who doubled up in the Classics in which Lord Clover is entered.
Another of her half-siblings is the fellow Group 3 scorer Bal De La Rose (Cadeaux Genereux), dam of the Grosser Dallmayr Preis hero Danceteria (Redoute's Choice) and third dam of last year's Opera heroine Barnavara (Calyx).
Lady Frankel also has a two-year-old filly by New Bay.
Another nice type for the @GraffardRacing team! 😮💨
