Shinn to Ride at Arlington

Australian jockey Blake Shinn has been granted a license to ride in the United States beginning June 5, he announced Monday. Proven at the top level Down Under with wins aboard Viewed (Aus) (Scenic {Ire}) in the 2008 G1 Melbourne Cup, 'TDN Rising Star' Capitalist (Aus) (Written Tycoon {Aus}) in the 2016 G1 Golden Slipper S. and Summer Passage (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}) in the G1 Sistema S. in New Zealand this year, among many others, Shinn will be based at Arlington Park in Chicago with trainer Wesley Ward. Shinn's U.S. stint will last until early July.

“I am excited to announce I have been granted a license to ride in America commencing from the 5th of June,” Shinn said in a statement. “Special thanks to Mr. V'Landys, Mr. McGauran and everyone at Racing NSW who has assisted me with my application to ride in America. My return to Australia is anticipated in early July with dates to be confirmed.”
