A share in Extreme Choice brought a sale-topping bid of A$540,000 from Glenlogan Park's Steve Morley during the Inglis Digital May (Early) Sale on Wednesday. The share was offered by China Horse Club.
Extreme Choice has sired five Group 1 winners to date and at a range of distances, including Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, Blue Diamond Stakes hero Devil Night, and Melbourne Cup winner Knight's Choice. At the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale his yearlings have averaged A$579,082 and sold up to A$1.7 million.
“The reality is, the stats emanating from this stallion speak for themselves and the word 'freak' certainly has to be in the conversation,” Morley said.
“When you look at those stallions at the top end of the market, Extreme Choice is younger than all of them and he's already provided Group 1 horses.
“Glenlogan have a number of very high-class mares and from a long-term point of view, we think we will be able to get some great results with Extreme Choice in the next say eight-to-10 years.”
China Horse Club's Michael Smith added, “We're delighted with the outcome. It sets a new benchmark for the stallion. He's a superior horse and we're delighted to have Glenlogan join us in the ownership, who are such incredible breeders in their own right.”
The share was one of six lots that made A$100,000 or more. The sale grossed A$4,725,050. To view the complete results, please visit the Inglis Digital website.
