Australian Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Scissor Kick (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}–Back Pass, by Quest For Fame {GB}) will shuttle to Haras d'Etreham in France in 2017. The soon-to-be 5-year-old will cover his first book at Arrowfield Stud later this year.

Trained by Paul Messara, Scissor Kick won the G3 Up And Coming S. over 6 1/2 furlongs at Randwick as a 3-year-old in 2014 before missing the G1 Golden Rose S. by a head, and last year added the six furlong G3 Eskimo Prince S. to his resume.

Scissor Kick is out of a half-sister to track record setting GII Del Mar Breeders' Cup H. winner Three Valleys (Diesis {GB}), and his third dam produced Juddmonte's legendary broodmare Hasili (Ire) (Kahyasi {Ire}), the dam of five Grade/Group 1 winners as well as leading sire Dansili (GB) (Danehill).

Haras d'Etreham General Manager Nicolas de Chambure said the popularity of Redoute's Choice, who shuttled to France for two seasons, made him keen to secure one of his sons.

“Redoute's Choice was really well received when he spent two years in France and I think French and European breeders were very impressed by the quality of his stock,” said de Chambure. “He is a champion sire and the best sire of sires from the Danehill line.”

“I was therefore very keen to find one of his sons and Scissor Kick has everything I was looking for,” he added. “He hails from one of the best families in Europe, he is an outstanding individual and he was a Group 1 performer with class and courage. It didn't take me long to make up my mind about him and I am very pleased to be working with Arrowfield to offer such an exciting prospect in France next year.”

Redoute's Choice, a three-time champion sire in Australia, has his first European-conceived crop racing this year, and had his first winner, Deep Inside (Fr), in France last Saturday.

John Messara, Chairman of Arrowfield Stud, said, “Redoute's Choice is the dominant Australian sire of the last decade and he remains at the top of his game, with three Group 1 winners and three million-dollar yearlings this season. Arrowfield has a perfect record with Redoute's Choice sire sons and I believe Scissor Kick has all the physical, mental and genetic attributes to extend it, here and in France.”
