INSHALLAH (Flightline), the $2.1-million Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale topper earlier this summer, makes his racing debut for trainer John Sadler and owner KAS Stables at Del Mar Saturday. Bred in New York by the Bromans, the colt is out of their top mare Bar of Gold, a GI Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint winner and full-sister to MGISW Spirit of St Louis who has already produced this runner's three-quarter sibling GSW Coinage (Tapit).
“The first time I saw him was in a video of him breezing on dirt that Sequel posted on X,” KAS Stable's Pedro Lanz said after purchasing the colt. “He is a very nice mover. He is a beautiful, balanced horse with a good hip and shoulder and a nice walk. He is out of a Breeders' Cup champion mare. And then there is all the hype with Flightline. I think the hype is real.”

Rail-drawn Emancipate (Uncle Mo) is no pedigree slouch either for Bob Baffert , being a homebred son of GISW Marley's Freedom. That mare, purchased by Cicero Farms as a yearling for just $35,000 in 2015, is the dam of another GISW in Hope Road (Quality Road).
Mike McCarthy brings out Articulation (Quality Road), a $725,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling for Eclipse Thoroughbreds, Bridlewood Farm and Robert LaPenta who enters off a best-of-106 bullet Aug. 8 (four furlongs from the gate in :47). TJCIS PPS

Two-time Eclipse winner and 'TDN Rising Star' Malathaat has her first foal to the track Saturday in Tumoohaat (Into Mischief). Purchased by Shadwell as a yearling for $1.05 million in 2019, Malathaat banked over $3.7 million in a career which saw her win both the GI Breeders' Distaff and the GI Longines Kentucky Oaks. Being a 'Rising Star' is a family affair as Malathaat's full-sister Dreaming of Julia, along with her dam Dreaming of Julia, have all received the honor.
To win, this filly will have to defeat a stacked field including $400,000 OBS April grad V Formation (Drain the Clock), the Into Mischief half-sister to SW/GISP Publisher (American Pharoah) in Libby Lloyd, $600,000 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic buy Oneinamilliongirl (Audible), Godolphin homebred Free Verse (Justify) out of GISW Dickinson, and Summer Wind Equine homebred Groves (Flightline). Spendthrift Farm picked up Q B Rocket (Gun Runner) for $1.9 million at Keeneland September and partnered with Frank Fletcher Racing on the colt who out of a half to MGISP Top Decile (Congrats), a mare who produced Japan's 2024 champion 3-year-old colt, Danon Decile (Jpn) (Epiphaneia {Jpn}).
Other notables in the field include a pair of Life Is Good colts in Card Man and $450,000 OBS April grad Farsideofthemoon, a $900,000 son of GISW Tara's Tango in Dallas Star (Flightline) and the $1-million Not This Time half-brother to GSW Owen Almighty, Damavand for AMO Racing. TJCIS PPS

On the grass in Kentucky, $625,000 Keeneland September yearling Market Closed (Not This Time) for Gold Standard Racing will take on Godolphin homebred Bold Speaker (Speaker's Corner), out of a stakes-placed half-sister to GISW Grace Hall (Empire Maker) and G1SP Wren's Day (Medaglia d'Oro).
