The second million guineas purchase to run on Thursday evening, Godolphin's First Law (Too Darn Hot) followed Wall Street's earlier example and duly delivered on debut at Sandown.
Making heavy weather of landing odds of 8-11 under Connor Planas, the Tattersalls October Book 1 sensation who is a half-brother to the Moyglare heroine Skitter Scatter (Scat Daddy) eventually got to main market rival Flight Tracker (Sea The Stars) in the closing stages and beat that full-brother to the Sandown Classic Trial runner-up Macduff by a head.
This is the mile maiden that Too Darn Hot himself exploded in eight years ago and which has been won by the stable's top-class Native Tribe as well as Westover, Arrest and Pride Of Arras.

Alongside the aforementioned Moyglare, Debutante and Silver Flash heroine Skitter Scatter, the winner is also a half-brother to the Listed scorer and multiple Group-placed Skellet (Kingman) and to the stable's Superlative Stakes runner-up Victory Dance by Too Darn Hot's sire Dubawi.
His other half-sister who made a mark in Stakes company is the Jimmy Durante Stakes runner-up Data Dependent (More Than Ready), who in turn produced the Belmont Oaks Invitational heroine Aspen Grove (Justify). The dam is a half-sister to Giant's Causeway's Dewhurst-winning sire Intense Focus and to the dam of last year's Prix de Royallieu heroine Consent (Lope De Vega). From the family of Galileo's Irish Derby hero Soldier Of Fortune and Sadler's Wells' sire Sholokhov, her yearling is a full-brother to Skellet.
