QUEEN SERENITY (IRE) (f, 2, Sioux Nation–Maybe I Will {Ire}, by Hawk Wing) validated a debut quote of 59-100 to provide her sire (by Scat Daddy) with already a sixth individual first-crop winner. Away fairly, the bay filly was pulled to the outside and chased the early exchanges from second. Asked to win her race 200 metres from home, Queen Serenity quickened up nicely and had a margin of 1 1/2 lengths on pacesetting Balayage (Ity) (Pounced) at the line. The winner is out of a daughter of Canterbury Lace (Danehill), whose G1 Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron S.-winning daughter Chachamaidee (Ire) (Footstepsinthesand {GB}) produced Group 3 winner Klassique (GB) (Galileo {Ire}). Canterbury Lace is also the dam of multiple Group 3 winner J Wonder (Footstepsinthesand {GB}) and California Whip (ex Chief Whip) (Giant's Causeway), a Group 3 winner in Hong Kong. This is also the family of 2005 G1 One Thousand Guineas heroine Virginia Waters (Kingmambo) and Group 3 winner and G1 Irish Derby runner-up Alexander of Hales (Danehill). Sales history: €13,000 Wlg '20 GONOV; €18,000 Ylg '21 GOFSEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €4,675.
