Patricia Generazio's Pure Sensation (Zensational) was officially scratched from the G1 Longines Hong Kong Sprint after failing a vet check Sunday morning. Winner of this year's GIII Jaipur S. and a latest third in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita, the homebred breezed three furlongs in :37 flat Dec. 6, but was first lame in his left hind with what was described as an abscess. He was subsequently found to be off in his left fore as well, missed trackwork Thursday and Friday, but was back out for a light gallop Saturday morning. Hong Kong Jockey Club vets delayed a decision as long as was possible, but upon examination Sunday, Pure Sensation remained lame in his left fore and was declared unsuitable to race.
