Pam and Martin Wygod homebred Prospect Park (Tapit) tries for the first time in Del Mar's GIII La Jolla H. Sunday. Runner-up to 'TDN Rising Star' Dortmund (Big Brown) in Santa Anita's GII San Felipe S. Mar. 7, the Cliff Sise pupil was fourth to that rival next out in the GI Santa Anita Derby Apr. 4. Given a brief freshening, the dark bay was a close second to Gimme Da Lute (Midnight Lute) in the GIII Affirmed S. in Arcadia June 7 and missed by just a nose to that rival last time in the GII Los Alamitos Derby July 4.

Phil D'Amato sends out consistent turf runner Papacoolpapacool (Temple City) for Ali and Fran Nilforushan and John Snedegar. Previously trained by Jeff Mullins, the bay won his first three starts for the D'Amato barn, including the Pasadena S. Mar. 21 and La Puente S. Apr. 18. Seventh to subsequent GI Belmont Derby winner Force the Pass (Speightstown) in the GIII Penn Mile May 30, the gelding was fifth last time in this venue's Oceanside S. July 16.

Sareen Family Trust's Om (Munnings), whose biggest claim to fame is beating American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile) in the Triple Crown winner's debut here last summer, was benched for several months after that graduation and returned with a fifth in the San Pedro S. Apr. 12. An optional claimer winner when trying turf in Arcadia May 10, the chestnut was third in the Affirmed.

Another runner who is making his turf debut here is Cross the Line (Line of David), owned by Red Cap Thoroughbreds, Sigband, Todaro and Hollendorfer. The California Derby winner was second in the GIII El Camino Real Derby Feb. 14 and finished fifth in both the Santa Anita Derby and GIII Illinois Derby Apr. 18. The dark bay was last seen finishing fourth in an Arcadia optional claimer June 25.
