Point of Entry Colt Becomes Sire's First 'TDN Rising Star'

Analyze It | A. Coglianese

Bill Lawrence's Analyze It (Point of Entry) became the first “TDN Rising Star” and seventh winner for his freshman sire (by Dynaformer) with an impressive debut graduation at Belmont Saturday afternoon. Let go at 13-1 despite his trainer's prowess with first timers and turf horses, the bay broke on top and traded blows with Blockade (War Front) through an opening quarter in :23.41. That rival was rated back a bit and longshot Fast Boat (City Zip) took up the fight, pressing Analyze It through a half in :47.44. Analyze It regained command at the top of the lane and rocketed clear to a dominant 6 1/4-length victory. Blockade held second.

A $130,000 KEESEP yearling buy, Analyze It was purchased for $190,000 post sale at OBS March after breezing in :10 flat. The winner is the first foal out of Sweet Assay (Consolidator), who hails from the family of MGISW Came Home (Gone West). The 8-year-old mare's 2016 colt by Point of Entry passed away and she failed to get in foal for 2017. She was most recently bred back to Point of Entry.
