Criquette Head and Mauricio Delcher Sanchez's G3 Prix Noailles victor Pearled Majesty (Persian King), who was beaten just five lengths when ninth in last month's G1 Prix du Jockey Club, bounced back in style with a pillar-to-post triumph in Sunday's G2 Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud.
Breaking smartly from the inside stall to gain immediate control of the 10-furlong feature under Christophe Soumillon, the 13-10 second favourite held sway throughout and kept on strongly under mild urging inside the final quarter-mile to easily outclass G3 Prix Hocquart fifth and the 12-1 outsider-of-four Baroud (Frankel), one of three nominees representing Andre and Lavinia Fabre, by 2 1/2 lengths.
The second's stablemates Overnight (Night Of Thunder) and Focus (Siyouni) came home at intervals, six lengths and nine lengths in arrears.
“I rode him with plenty of confidence,” said Soumillon. “He soon relaxed and today he showed he is capable of winning a very good race.”
Mauricio Delcher Sanchez added, “The [G1] Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is an option. Christophe thinks he's very comfortable at 10 furlongs, but I believe he can also do well over longer distances. He has a very big stride and doesn't tire when galloping like that. We were confident beforehand, even though it was no easy task facing a trio of Fabre horses. Seeing him striding out freely in front reassured me.”
Joint-owner Criquette Head continued, “He has to be ridden that way. In the [G1 Prix du] Jockey Club it didn't go like that, but today, he was able to show the full extent of his talent.”

Pedigree Notes
Pearled Majesty, one of four pattern-race winners for his sire, is the second foal and black-type performer produced by an unraced half-sister to G3 Prix Minerve and G3 Princess Royal Stakes winner Eternal Pearl (Frankel).
His stakes-winning second dam Pearly Steph (Oasis Dream) is a half-sister to G1 Matron Stakes heroine Pearls Galore (Invincible Spirit) and G3 Grosser Preis der Mehl-Mulhens-Stiftung victrix Lucky Lycra (Olympic Glory).
The winner, whose fourth dam is G1 Prix Vermeille heroine Pearly Shells (Efisio), is a half-sister to Listed Prix de Thiberville runner-up Three Pearls (Intello) and the unraced two-year-old filly Pearly Warrior (Saxon Warrior).
