Baby Beth (Olympiad), unveiled here against fellow New York-breds in her first start since bringing $100,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale in May, drew inside and had more than enough early speed to clear this field.
Setting the fractions under Manny Franco, she was able to scoot clear and avoid any early pressure, leading easily through the half in :45.88.
The 5-2 favorite Under the Moon (Greatest Honour) made a run down the stretch but was never a threat as Baby Beth sprung the 2 3/4-length upset at odds of 7-1.
Her freshman sire's (by Speightstown) fifth winner, Baby Beth is out a stakes-placed City Zip mare who has since produced a yearling Arabian Lion filly now in the hands of Mahmud Mouni and a filly this year by Seize the Grey.
She was covered by Americanrevolution ahead of next season.
