Ohio to Host First Sale in 10 Years

Majestic Farm | OTBO

Ohio's first mixed Thoroughbred sale in 10 years will be held at Majestic Farm in Batavia, Ohio at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, the Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners (OTBO) announced Thursday. 103 horses of all ages are cataloged, with inspections available Saturday, Dec. 2 and on the day of the sale.

“The process has moved along quickly and we have shipped catalogs to the regional training centers, H.B.P.A. and racing offices that are currently operating live racing,” said Dan Mahaney, whose auction company is working with the OTBO to facilitate the sale. “We have been seeing solid interest in regional sales and with the strengthening of Thoroughbred racing in Ohio, we are looking forward positive results for consignors and buyers.”

Majestic Farm is located on 5700 State Route 132. A digital version of the catalog is posted and can be found at the OTBO website.
