Observations on the European Racing Scene for Oct. 18

2.05 Gowran Park, Mdn, €15,500, 2yo, 8fT
HARIPOUR (IRE) (Shamardal) is a half-brother to none other than Harzand (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}), this year's G1 English and Irish Derby hero who races from the same Dermot Weld stable. His Highness The Aga Khan's bay who is also a half-sibling of three other black-type performers including the G3 Silver Flash S. winner and G1 Moyglare Stud S. third Harasiya (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) encounters a four-strong Ballydoyle entourage of which the unraced Auckland (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) forms a notable part. A son of the brilliant sprinter Airwave (GB) (Air Express {Ire}), he is therefore closely linked to this year's juvenile sensation Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

2.50 Yarmouth, Mdn, £7,200, 2yo, f, 8f 3yT
NESHMEYA (GB) (Lawman {Fr}) bids to build on a solid debut second to TDN Rising Star Talaayeb (GB) (Dansili {GB}) at Newmarket last month for Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Charlie Hills. The 425,000gns TATFOA foal out of the G1 Epsom Oaks and G1 Coronation S. third High Heeled (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}) meets another notable in Normandie Stud's newcomer Coconut Creme (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}), a William Haggas-trained half-sister to the G1 Nassau S. winner Sultanina (GB) (New Approach {Ire}).
