Night Of Thunder's Synchronicity A New TDN Rising Star

There was a buzz about Ombudsman's sister Synchronicity ahead of Friday's seven-furlong debutantes' event at Newbury and it was all very straightforward as she provided Night Of Thunder with his sixth TDN Rising Star, Presented by Hagyard.

“It's the manner in which she did it, it was all was very smooth and she got there very easily,” jockey Kieran Shoemark said. “Her gallop out impressed me the most, she was strong through the line and she's exciting. She has such an economical way of going and goes through the gears with ease. She's been showing us the right signs and had done plenty. She'll get a mile and is ready for that, she was very relaxed in behind.”

Representing the Ed Walker stable and TBT Racing, who paid 900,000gns at Tattersalls October Book 1 to acquire this full-sibling of the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Juddmonte International and Dubai Turf hero, the 6-4 favourite cruised in behind the leaders under a confident Shoemark before being committed inside the two.

Soon in command, she stretched to a two-length verdict over the well-regarded William Haggas-trained Oppenheimer homebred Song Of The Clouds, who made it a one-two for the sire, with a neck back to Julie Wood's Tarrant (Space Blues).

Walker is expecting an abundance of improvement. “This is good pressure, to be sent a yearling like her and this is just the start of her career,” he said. “I was hoping if all went well today she would go for the [Listed] Michael Seely [at York]–she has lots of speed but won't run over seven again as she wants eight and possibly ten.”

“I don't know if she'll stay ten as well as her brother, but her next race will be really interesting,” he added. “The team at home have done a great job with her and she was perfect today, but the next time it might be that she comes alive a bit.”

Pedigree Notes
Synchronicity is the third foal out of Syndicate (Dansili), a Juddmonte cast-off who was sold to Anthony Stroud Bloodstock for just 25,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls December Sale. She is a full-sister to the G3 Premio Carlo Vittadini winner Runnymede and the dual Listed winner and G2 Celebration Mile runner-up Stipulate. Her second dam is the Listed scorer Insinuate (Mr. Prospector), who produced the Group 3 winners Convey (Dansili) and Stronghold by Dansili's sire Danehill.

The fourth dam is All At Sea (Riverman), who captured the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and was placed in the Oaks and Juddmonte International. From the family of the four-times Group 1-winning Twice Over (Observatory), Syndicate's two-year-old filly by Ten Sovereigns is named Syndicale.
