National Defense Has First Mares in Foal

National Defense (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}–Angel Falls {GB}, by Kingmambo), winner of the 2016 G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and that year's high-weighted French 2-year-old colt, has had his first mares scanned in foal.

Standing at the Irish National Stud, National Defense is being supported by mares from some of Europe's top breeders, including Kirsten Rausing's Lanwades Stud, who reported that Alta Moda (GB) (Sadler's Wells), an unraced daughter of two-time G1 Champion S. winner Alborada (GB) (Alzao), is in foal on one cover. Alta Moda is the dam of Tattersalls 2YO Millions Trophy winner Ghurair (Elusive Quality) as well as MSP Groor (GB) (Archipenko).

Ghislain Bozo and Brian Williamson has also pronounced Kibara (GB) (Sadler's Wells) in foal, whil Mme A & Gilles Forien have announced that Caipirinia (Fr) (Hawk Wing), the dam of €350,000 Arqana August graduate Show Me (Fr) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}) is pregnant to National Defense.

The stallion commands a service fee of €12,000.
