The winner of GIII Vosburgh Stakes during the Belmont At The Big A meet last fall and recent victor in the GIII Mr. Prospector Stakes at Gulfstream Park, Mufasa (Chi) (Practical Joke) was reportedly sold privately for an undisclosed amount by Carlos Saavedra and Stud Vendaval, Inc. to Dubai-based RRR Racing, according to a tweet on X by Agentes305.
The post goes on to say the 6-year-old will travel to the Middle East after completing quarantine in the U.S., which was confirmed by current trainer Ignacio Correas.
Mufasa began his racing career as a 3-year-old in Chile before coming to the U.S. where he made his stateside debut at Churchill Downs facing optional claiming company in late June. After running sixth, the dark bay cleared the condition at Colonial Downs in mid-August.
Conquering the Vosburgh, Mufasa's 50% ownership interest RNA'd for $950,000 during the Keeneland Championship Sale at Del Mar. The Correas trainee was then well-beaten in the GI Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile that weekend, but won the Dec. 28 running of the Mr. Prospector Stakes in Hallandale where he defeated heavy favorite White Abarrio (Race Day), who is slated to be among the favorites in next weekend's GI Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream.
