COSMO CHARLIE (c, 3, Stay Thirsty–Lake Como, by Salt Lake) snapped a two-race losing streak to earn a first stakes win in Saturday's Listed Al Bastakiya S., the Meydan Super Saturday opener. Cosmo Charlie raced to the lead as drama unfolded at the break, with international favourite Fawree (Candy Ride {Arg}) dropping his rider at the start. In control throughout, Cosmo Charlie held off a game Qatar Man (Ire) (Archarcharch) on the line to win by a length. Qatar Man was a further five lengths the better of Capezzano (Bernardini).
