A full field of 12 plus three also-eligibles signs on for this maiden turf route Thursday in Hallandale, headed by expensive Todd Pletcher debutante THANKFUL (American Pharoah). Owned by Bass Stables, the bay is a half-sister to GSW Brazen Persuasion (Indian Charlie) and hammered for $625,000 as a Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling. She shows a steady series of breezes at Palm Beach Downs on both turf and dirt going back to mid-March, capped by a five-furlong grass move in 1:01 flat (1/4) May 3.

Drawing the second-widest post, the only filly to her outside is e Five Racing Thoroughbreds firster Pseudonym (Hard Spun&log=">Hard Spun). Trained by Saffie Joseph, the dark bay is a half to MSP Loose On the Town (Speightstown) and Conquest Lemonraid (Lemon Drop Kid) and sold for $225,000 at that same Fasig-Tipton Saratoga auction.

Among horses with experience, the most imposing appear to be Oak Bluff Stables' homebred Fresco (Freud), third in a course-and-distance unveiling Jan. 26, and So Darn Hot (Ghostzapper), a $600,000 OBS June buy for Stetson Racing who was third debuting in a local main-track mile Mar. 22. TJCIS PPs
