A maquette bronze of The Queen with a Mare and Foal has been added as the last lot at the Goffs London Sale in association with Privat 3 Money on June 13, the eve of Royal Ascot. The auction will raise funds for the National Horseracing Museum in Newmarket, of which Her Majesty is the patron. The statue, which measures 60 cm x 45cm x 40cm, is a maquette of the original bronze–created by Etienne Millner and Charlie Langton–that stands in Newmarket at the entrance to the Rowley Mile. The original was unveiled in November 2016 by The Queen, who owns one of the 12 limited edition maquettes.

Goffs Group Chief Executive, Henry Beeby said, “Goffs is honoured to have been asked to auction the bronze of Her Majesty The Queen with a Mare and Foal at this year's London Sale. Selling such a beautiful piece at Kensington Palace Gardens on the eve of Royal Ascot, particularly during The Queen's Platinum Jubilee year, should generate great interest among our guests in attendance and we hope to raise plenty of funds for the National Horseracing Museum who do such excellent work in showcasing and preserving the legacy of our wonderful sport.”

Chairman of the NHRM, Hon. Frances Stanley, added, “The Goffs sale encapsulates all the promise and excitement of the forthcoming week of Royal Ascot. It is a unique event for the international racing industry who come together in the Royal grounds of Kensington Palace. To be able to offer this collectors maquette as the last lot of the Goffs sale in Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee year is a particularly fitting time for racing lovers to show their support for the National Horseracing Museum (NHRM).

“The Queen's Statue maquette will be on display this weekend at Epsom for the Oaks and Derby meeting in the entrance hall along with paintings depicting Her Majesty during her long lifetime.”
