Louis Dubois has been appointed a U.S. Agent for Goffs, the sales company announced on Thursday. Dubois will work alongside existing Goffs U.S. representative Jacob West. Tom Taaffe will continue to focus on the American market as part of his international client relations role.
The appointment will expand the sale company's reach across the U.S. and encourage greater participation at their sales in Ireland, particularly at Book 1 and Book 2 of the Orby Sale and the new The Chicquita Session during the November Sale.
The Frenchman has been around horses his whole life, across multiple disciplines. He spent time in New Zealand working in the breeze-up sector, as well as with Kirkwood Stables in the U.S. Dubois also spent several seasons with Godolphin in Australia and Dubai, while continuing to work in the U.S. sales market. His most recent post was with Wesley Ward. Under Ward, Dubois gained extensive experience of the American sales circuit. He will still be involved on the buying side of the business.
American buyers spent 46.3% more during the 2025 Orby Sale. Some of the highlights of Orby graduates include the success of G1 Irish Oaks heroine Johanna Walsh (Sea The Stars), who was purchased by Wells Watson and agent Andrew Cary. Multiple American owners have also been rewarded by the Goffs Two Million Series since its inception.
