Like A Horse on Fire: Pyro Finishes Fast To Take Risen Star

Looking like someone had lit a fire under his tail, Pyro (Pulpit) fought his way out of the crowd and flew from last to first to take the GIII Risen Star S. at Fair Grounds yesterday. Making his first start since running second in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile, the Winchell Thoroughbreds homebred was last as they straightened for home and had a wall of horses in front of him, but he angled outside at the eighth pole and rocketed past the field to win going away.
