ANEEN (IRE) (f, 2, Lawman {Fr}–Asheerah {GB} {SP-Ire}, by Shamardal), who was a debut fourth on the same day her G1 Irish 2000 Guineas-winning half-brother annexed the Sept. 10 G2 Boomerang S. at Leopardstown, overcame a wide draw to stalk the pace in a share of third through halfway here. Stoked into action with a quarter mile remaining, the 5-2 favourite bounded to the front approaching the final furlong and was ridden clear to easily outpoint Petticoat (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}) by 4 1/4 lengths. “She's a nice filly and I've always held her in high regard,” said winning rider Chris Hayes. “She was entitled to win, it didn't surprise me how far she won and she'll have a little rest now.” She follows Awtaad, who was a debut third on this card last year, as the second winner out of her stakes-placed dam Asheerah (GB) (Shamardal), and is kin to a yearling filly by Tamayuz (GB) and a colt foal by Cape Cross (Ire), from a family which includes Seattle Slew, Seattle Dancer, Lomond, et al. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $12,717. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
