Kitten's Joy Colt Takes Juvenile Turf Sprint

Kitten's Joy

Third on debut going a mile at Ellis Aug. 14, Kitten's Cat graduated next out going that distance at Kentucky Downs Sept. 15 and was third next out behind “TDN Rising Star” and subsequent GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Oscar Performance (Kitten's Joy) in the GIII Pilgrim S. over a yielding course at Belmont Oct. 1. Settling in fifth between rivals early, the bay was swung out five wide turning for home and charged clear in the final furlong to score. The winner is the first foal out of Brushwork, a Darley-bred daughter of MGISW Manistique (Unbridled), who the Ramseys purchased for just $9,500 at the Fasig-Tipton February sale. She has since produced a pair of filly's by Kitten's Joy and was bred back to that sire this spring.
