Italy's SGA Selected Yearling Sale Set For September 18

The catalogue for the SGA Selected Yearling Sale is now online. Set for Friday, September 18, the sale features 82 yearlings, including a 39-lot Select Session.

Among the sires represented are Mehmas, Calyx, Cotai Glory, Far Above, Ghaiyyath, Gleneagles, Muhaarar, Nathaniel, Oasis Dream, Ten Sovereigns and Without Parole. Italian stallions also have plenty of representation, including Arcano, El Kabeir, and  Mount Everest. Young stallion Bayside Boy has two yearlings set to sell, while Blackbeard has one, Erevann has two lots catalogued, Persian Force has one, and Space Blues is represented by a filly.

In 2025, the sale was topped by a Sioux Nation colt and a Gleneagles filly, who each made €70,000. A total of 68 horses sold from 86 (69%) in the ring for a gross of €1,109,000. The average was €16,309 and the median was €10,000.

The sale day will also include an evening of racing at San Siro, with the SGA and the Italian Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (ANAC) hosting their cocktail reception honouring some of the leading ANAC breeders/members of the 2025 season.
