Although an official date has not been set, Indiana Horse Racing Commission Executive Director, Mike Smith, has announced plans to retire. Smith will assist Commission members with their search for his replacement and ensure a smooth transition occurs once a replacement is named.
“Deciding to retire has not been an easy decision to make, especially when working in an industry which I have grown so passionate about. However, I'm looking forward to spending time with family and focusing on my existing business ventures,” noted Smith on his impending retirement.
