Holy Roman Emperor To Stand At Aquis

Aquis Farm, the former Patinack Farm in Queensland, will stand Holy Roman Emperor (Ire) this year after securing the 12-year-old's Southern Hemisphere breeding rights. Holy Roman Emperor has sired the Group 1 winner Mongolian Khan (Aus) in Australia, but he is most recognized for his success with his Hong Kong runners, which include Group 1 winners Designs On Rome (Ire) and Rich Tapestry (Ire).

Aquis has also acquired former Darley sires Domesday (Aus) and Benfica (Aus). Domesday, a son of Red Ransom and a Danehill outcross, is a Group 1 sire and this year was responsible for G2 Western Australia Derby winner Arcadia Dream (Aus). Benfica, a Group 1-winning 2-year-old by Lonhro (Aus), has his first juveniles running this year, and has two winners from five starters.

“In line with our commitment to acquiring select quality broodmares, Holy Roman Emperor, Domesday and Benfica offer the physical, racing and genetic attributes required to launch our stallion roster at a commercial level,” said Aquis's Chief Operating Officer Marcus Langer.
