FLORIDA FABULOUS (f, 3, High Cotton–West Side Dancer, by Gone West) was tabbed a “TDN Rising Star” after crushing a field of fellow Florida-breds to graduate by 10 3/4 lengths in her track-and-trip debut Feb. 16 and was hammered down to 3-5 favoritism to repeat here. Breaking sharply from her rail draw, the $400,000 OBSAPR buy was well within herself as she blazed through opening splits of :22.89 and :44.65. Bowling along on the lead, the bay effortlessly cruised clear in the lane under a hand ride from Paco Lopez to win as she pleased by 3 3/4 lengths. Teresa Z (Smart Strike) was best of the rest in second. The winner is a half-sister to a number of impressive E. Paul Robsham Stables colorbearers, including GII Swale S. winner Travelin Man (Trippi), GSW, $330,734; as well as GII Gulfstream Park H. hero Discreet Dancer (Discreet Cat) GSW & GISP, $365,900; and Sweet N Discreet (Discreet Cat), SW & GSP, $366,447, who tallied a four-for-six career record in Hallandale and sold for $1.1 million at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton November sale. Charlotte Weber's Live Oak Plantation went to $950,000 at the recent OBS March sale to take home Florida Fabulous's 2-year-old half-brother by Scat Daddy after he breezed in :21 3/5 (click here for sale story). West Side Dancer is also responsible for a yearling colt by More Than Ready and was bred back to “TDN Rising Star” and MGISW Liam's Map. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $54,800.
