Gun Runner's Paving Traverses Slop To Clear Optional Claimer At Fair Grounds

Paving (Gun Runner) conquered her first career race as an 8-1 shot at Ellis Park Aug. 23.

Ready for tougher competition and an exceedingly sloppy surface in New Orleans here, the 'Insighted' 30 cents on the dollar chalk trailed the field up the backstretch. The filly was not in a mood to quit though and around the far turn she was splashing along with gusto as Jose Ortiz steered. Entering the lane towards the center of the course, the Tom Amoss trainee came with a big run and she passed them all to clear the condition. Luv Your Neighbor (Constitution) was the runner-up.

The winner's dam is responsible for a yearling filly named Solsia (Uncle Mo) and a weanling colt by Authentic. A $420,000 2021 Pin Oak Stud sale buy for Larry Hirsch, Point System was bred to Good Magic for 2026.

Paving's second dam is GSW Brownie Points (Forest Wildcat), who produced MGSW Synchrony (Tapit), GSW Chocolate Kisses (Candy Ride {Arg}), and also the dam of Canadian GSW & 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard', Dream Shake (Twirling Candy).
