Group 1 Fillies Headline Tattersalls

Champion sprinter Quiet Reflection | Racing Post

The catalogue for the Tattersalls December Mare Sale from Dec. 4 to 7 has been published, with four maiden Group 1-winning fillies among the prize offerings. Those are last year's champion sprinter Quiet Reflection (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) (lot 1861); dual Group 1-winning sprinter Marsha (GB) (Acclamation {GB}) (lot 1848); GI Man O'War S. winner Zhukova (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) (lot 1868) and G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Intricately (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) (lot 1549). Also highly sought after will be the G3 Albany S. winner and dual Group 1-placed Different League (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) (lot 1836), the highest-rated 2-year-old filly to be offered at this sale this century, and a handful of other group winners including Prize Exhibit (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) (lot 1543), Spain Burg (Fr) (Sageburg {Ire}) (lot 1802) and Traffic Jam (Ire) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) (lot 1804).

The sale will also feature the final installment of the Ballymacoll dispersal. That dispersal created headlines at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale when a Kingman (GB) yearling filly out of Justlookdontouch (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) made 1.7-million gns, and that mare is offered as lot 1825 alongside her stakes-winning daughter Abingdon (Street Cry {Ire}) (lot 1876) and her 2-year-old Aim of Artemis (Ire) (Leroidesanimaux {Brz}) (lot 1875). The Ballymacoll dispersal also features the champion Islington (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) in foal to Kingman (lot 1826), Group 2 winner Eleanor Duse (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}) (lot 1823) in foal to Frankel (GB) and Group 3 winner Liber Nauticus (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}) (lot 1824) in foal to Harzand (GB).

The catalogue includes 36 mares in foal to current top five stallions in Britain in Ireland, including stakes winner Modernstone (GB) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) in foal to Galileo (Ire) (lot 1845). There are two mares in foal to Dubawi (Ire), Voleuse de Coeurs (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) (lot 1835) and Anzhelika (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) (lot 1856), and 13 in foal to Frankel (GB).

The Castlebridge Consignment sends the largest draft of 120, while the ever-popular Godolphin and Juddmonte drafts number 53 and 56, respectively.

“The once-in-a-generation Ballymacoll Dispersal adds a unique dimension to this year's Tattersalls December Sale and it is backed up by a catalogue of real distinction including four outstanding Group 1-winning fillies, the highest-rated 2-year-old filly we have offered at the December Sale this century and a host of beautifully bred, well-covered mares,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “Europe's premier breeding stock sale is always an unmissable event for Thoroughbred breeders from throughout the world and we are looking forward to another truly international renewal.”
