Goken Retired To Huderie

Goken (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}–Gooseley Chope {Fr}, by Indian Rocket {GB}) will become the first son of his sire to retire to stud when he enters stud at Haras de la Huderie in France next year. Owned and bred by Guy Pariente, who stands Kendargent at his Haras de Colleville, Goken was a Group 3 winner at two and three in France and won Lingfield's Listed Golden Rose S. He hit the board at the highest level this year when finishing third in the G1 King's Stand S. at Royal Ascot. Goken will stand for €5,000.

Explaining the decision to stand Goken at Huderie as opposed to his own stud, Pariente said, “my manager, Guillaume Vitse, is already very busy looking after the stallion careers of Kendargent and Galiway, as well as our band of broodmares. We were looking for somewhere that would suit Goken for him to start his career at stud and I think we have found it in Haras de La Huderie. It is only five minutes away from Haras de Colleville and I think Beranger Bussy will do a very good job at promoting him. I love Goken as a horse and I have a lot of faith in his future as a stallion.”
