Goffs Launches The Chicquita Session At November Breeding Stock Sale

The Chicquita Session, a new select section within the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale that will offer a curated selection of Europe's most desirable fillies and broodmares, was launched by Goffs on Friday.

Named after the Classic-winning filly Chicquita, whose €6 million sale at Goffs in 2013 was a defining moment in the company's history, the session will be limited to a maximum of 25 lots to be offered on the Friday evening at the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale.

The idea of a standalone section of elite bloodstock being offered within a sale in Europe has already been implemented with huge success by Tattersalls, with the Sceptre Sessions of the company's December Breeding Stock Sale now one of the highlights in the sales calendar. Meanwhile, Fasig-Tipton's Night of the Stars sets pulses racing in America every year.

Goffs chief Henry Beeby outlined how he wishes to replicate such successes at Goffs through The Chicquita Session, which will be open to Group 1, 2 and 3 performers, stakes-winning or stakes-producing mares, exceptional young broodmares in foal to elite stallions and fillies from internationally recognised families. Invitation-only consignments may also be a feature of the sale.

For more than a decade, we have delivered outstanding results whenever we have been entrusted with elite breeding stock. Indeed, many of the most memorable moments in global bloodstock sales during that timeframe have been at Goffs November Sale.”
