Frankel | Bronwen Healy

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Friday's Observations features several Godolphin bluebloods at Newmarket.

1.15 Newmarket, Mdn, £12,000, 2yo, c/g, 7fT
NOBLE TRUTH (FR) (Kingman {GB}) is one of two Godolphin representatives in the maiden they have won four times in the last nine years, and the pick of James Doyle following his debut third behind the subsequent G2 July S. winner Lusail (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) in a course-and-distance novice last month. Charlie Appleby saddles the €1.1million Arqana Deauville September Yearling Sale graduate, whose dam is an unraced half-sister to the high-class Stacelita (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), and the Leicester novice third Stormy Ocean (GB) (Frankel {GB}) who is a 480,000gns Book 1 purchase from the immediate family of Frankel's Eminent (Ire). They will be tested by Ben and Sir Martyn Arbib's Sweeping (GB) (Siyouni {Fr}), who represents the Listed Chesham S. form of TDN Rising Star Point Lonsdale (Ire) (Australia {GB}) having been fourth in that Royal Ascot contest.
