Godolphin struck for a €1.6-million son of Wootton Bassett midway through Arqana's second session. Sold as lot 107, the bay is out of the G3 Prix de Lutece heroine Paix (Muhaarar).
Juddmonte was underbidder on the half-brother to multiple stakes winner Parachutiste (Dubawi), placed in both the G2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil and G3 Prix de Reux this season.
Co-bred by consignor Ecurie des Monceaux and Skymarc Farm, the May foal is a grandson of fellow Lutece heroine Pacifique (Montjeu), herself a half-sister to stakes-winning blue hen Prudenzia (Dansili).
After outbidding Juddmonte's Simon Mockridge, Anthony Stroud said, “We've got the half-sister [She Commands, by Dubawi] who we like very much, and obviously he comes from a wonderful farm in Monceaux. He has a wonderful pedigree and was one of our favourite horses today.”
