Multiple Eclipse champion Gio Ponti (Tale of the Cat–Chipeta Springs, by Alydar) will stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Arrowfield Stud.
“Gio Ponti's superlative record will stamp him one of the all-time great American turf horses,” commented Arrowfield's John Messara. “His athleticism, good looks and Tale of the Cat's proven compatibility with Australasian bloodlines make him a very exciting addition to our roster.”
Gio Ponti, twice champion male turf horse and once champion older male in the U.S., retired with earnings over $6.1 million. He is currently standing his first season at Castleton Lyons Farm in Lexington. His 2012 Australian stud fee has not yet been announced.
