Sudden Surprise, a Repole Stables homebred, led wire to wire to become the first winner for his freshman sire going 5 1/2 furlongs here July 30, and continued his winning ways Friday afternoon. Tabbed as the slight favorite in a race that was bet as a two-horse affair along with Manipulated, the colt pressed the pace from the three path through fractions of :22.22 and :45.28. Asked for more turning for home, he shook loose under steady encouragement and posted a two-length victory over Manipulated, adding an initial stakes winner to his sire's resume. Ready and Good produced a filly by Overdriven last year, a filly by Stay Thirsty this year and was bred back to Uncle Mo. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
