Already represented by 'TDN Rising Star' Monarch of Egypt at Naas in Ireland last weekend, American Pharoah looks for his first winner on these shores Friday. Boasting a pair of bullets at trainer Wesley Ward's Keeneland base, first-time starter MAVEN (American Pharoah) has been installed as the even-money morning-line favorite. He worked four furlongs in :50 (2/14) in his final breeze at Aqueduct Apr. 14. The chestnut is the first foal out of Richies Party Girl (Any Given Saturday), a three-time stakes winner of $357,085. Tesorina, the first North American runner for the 2015 Triple Crown winner, finished third as the 4-5 favorite in the Big A opener Wednesday. TJCIS PPs
