CERNAN (Malibu Moon) gets his career started for Grandview Equine and Everett Dobson's Cheyenne Stables LLC and trainer Steve Asmussen, who strikes with about one of every five of his first-starters. Produced by an unraced half-sister to standout Japanese turf stayer and two-time Horse of the Year Symboli Kris S (Kris S.), the Apr. 16 was hammered down to these connections for $500K at last year's Keeneland September sale, making him the joint most-expensive of 51 of this outstanding sire's yearlings to sell in 2018. CORRECTNESS (Medaglia d'Oro&log=">Medaglia d'Oro), a $1-million acquisition by Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stables out of the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale, is a daughter of Veracity (Distorted Humor), a full-sister to SW Cheery, the dam of newly retired dual Grade I winner and 'TDN Rising Star' Elate (Medaglia d'Oro); and a half-sister to the dam of MGSW Tax (Arch). Veracity, who was bought back on a bid of $1.7 million when offered in foal to Justify at FTKNOV this past Tuesday, is also the dam of a yearling full-sister to Correctness who was knocked down to Claiborne Farm, agent, for $900K at FTSAUG this past summer.
